## Dog access

Evidence status: **Published dog rule available; check its dates, zones and validity**.

These are published conditions, not a live answer for your visit. Use the date and time calculator on the human-readable page (Europe/London) and check current signs.

- **Permitted dog route:** Use Beach Road, the northern boundary shingle bank or East Bank on a lead. Pet dogs cannot enter the main nature reserve. Follow site opening and nesting notices. [Source](https://www.norfolkwildlifetrust.org.uk/CleyMarshes); source checked 2026-10-27.
- **Which part of the beach?:** Walk Beach Road, the northern boundary shingle bank or East Bank with the dog on a lead. Do not enter the main reserve or nesting cordons.

Additional published context: Rules are taken from the linked council, landowner or official visitor source. Follow the signs on site and keep dogs away from wildlife.

A listed location, missing ban, photograph or visitor report does not establish dog permission. Use the linked council, landowner or official visitor source and current entrance signs.

## Walking with your dog

- **Beach bank and reserve are different:** The Trust permits on-lead dogs on Beach Road, the shingle bank along the northern reserve boundary, and East Bank. Pet dogs cannot enter the wider reserve or indoor visitor centre. ## Parking, access and supporting details

- **Parking:** The Trust lists a beach car park as well as parking at its visitor centre. Charges and current conditions apply. [Norfolk Wildlife Trust — Cley and Salthouse Marshes](https://www.norfolkwildlifetrust.org.uk/CleyMarshes) (source checked 2026-10-27).
- Named arrival area: Cley Beach Car Park. This is separate from the beach map reference.
- A step-free route onto the beach has not been confirmed.
- Toilets, drinking water and refreshments have not been confirmed for this entrance.
- [7-day tide predictions: Blakeney](https://easytide.admiralty.co.uk/?PortID=0155A). A nearby reference port, not a prediction of safe beach access or a forecast for an arbitrary date selected in the dog calculator.

These are published visitor details, without an on-site inspection. Unconfirmed facilities are not necessarily absent. Bring drinking water for your dog; a café listing does not confirm that dogs can go inside.

## Beach context

At Cley, the confirmed dog route is the shingle bank with a lead on; the main nature reserve excludes pet dogs.
