# Bexhill Beach: dog rules

Human-readable page: [Bexhill Beach: dog rules](https://dogfriendlybeach.uk/england/bexhill-beach/).
Content version: 2026-10-27. This is not a new check of every source.

Location: Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, England.

## Dog access

Evidence status: **Published dog rule available; check its dates, zones and validity**.

These are published conditions, not a live answer for your visit. Use the date and time calculator on the human-readable page (Europe/London) and check current signs.

- **Restricted-zone dates:** 1 May – 30 September.
- **Which part of the beach?:** Avoid the beach between Brockley Road and Brassey Road from 1 May to 30 September. Use adjoining shore outside the mapped exclusion. The signed order’s Brassey Road boundary takes precedence over older Sea Road wording.
- **Promenade leads:** The signed order requires fixed leads 1 May–30 September between groynes 34 and 78 and on Jubilee (Metropole) lawns. The beach exclusion is separate. - **Published order covers:** 2024-01-15 to 2027-01-14. Check for later changes. [Source](https://rdcpublic.blob.core.windows.net/website-uploads/2020/01/PSPO-Dog-Control-2024.pdf); source checked 2026-10-27.
- Fixed leads are required 1 May–30 September on the promenade between groynes 34 and 78 and on Jubilee (Metropole) lawns. Follow permanent restrictions in play and recreation areas.
- The linked order covers 2024-01-15 to 2027-01-14; confirm rules outside that period.

Additional published context: Rules are taken from the linked council, landowner or official visitor source. Follow the signs on site and keep dogs away from wildlife.

Evidence is limited to the years or order dates stated above. Outside that coverage, access needs a new check; do not extend permission automatically.

A listed location, missing ban, photograph or visitor report does not establish dog permission. Use the linked council, landowner or official visitor source and current entrance signs.

## Walking with your dog

- **Use the signed order’s eastern end:** The beach webpage still describes Sea Road, while the signed 2024 order uses Brassey Road. Use the wider signed boundary and the displayed maps. - **Promenade leads are a separate zone:** The signed order requires fixed leads on the promenade between groynes 34 and 78 and the Jubilee (Metropole) lawns from 1 May to 30 September. ## Parking, access and supporting details

- A specific public parking area for this entrance has not been confirmed.
- A step-free route onto the beach has not been confirmed.

These are published visitor details, without an on-site inspection. Unconfirmed facilities are not necessarily absent. Bring drinking water for your dog; a café listing does not confirm that dogs can go inside.

## Beach context

Bexhill’s signed order excludes dogs from the central beach between Brockley Road and Brassey Road from 1 May to 30 September.
